Power stations run their auxiliaries continuously — ID and FD fans, boiler feed pumps, coal mills, cooling water pumps and ash handling drives. Most of the large ones are wound rotor slip ring motors, and the parts that wear are always the same: the slip rings, the carbon brushes riding on them, and the holders that keep brush pressure steady.
A brush or ring failure on a critical auxiliary means derating or a shutdown, so replacements have to fit the first time. What these parts have to survive
- Continuous duty — brushes wear steadily rather than in bursts, so grade consistency between batches matters more than peak performance
- Coal dust and fly ash in the air abrade rings and contaminate the brush track
- Generator and exciter slip rings need a clean, concentric surface to avoid sparking and ring scoring
- Ambient heat around boiler auxiliaries pushes insulation toward Class F and H requirements

Yes. Send the worn slip ring unit or a dimensioned drawing and we manufacture a replacement to the same sizes — ring diameters, widths, hub bore, keyway and terminal positions — so it fits the existing shaft and brush gear without modification.
Which carbon brush grade suits a power plant slip ring motor?
Slip ring duty on AC motors normally uses copper metal-graphite grades for their low contact drop and high current-carrying capacity, while DC machines and exciters usually take electro-graphite grades. The safest approach is to send us the used brush — we match the grade, size, lead and terminal to what is already working in your machine.
Do you supply air filters for motor and panel ventilation?
Yes. We manufacture powder-coated filter panels, box units and custom housings with washable pleated media and wire mesh guards, made to your measured opening sizes.
